What is UKnightedTuesday?

UKknightedTuesday, Arcadia's eighth annual day of giving, UKnights Arcadia alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and friends to make their gifts in celebration of the best of the University and in a collective show of support for Arcadia students. Aligned with the international day of philanthropy, Giving Tuesday, Arcadia will celebrate UKnightedTuesday beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29. Together, we will charge towards our goal in a bold demonstration of the pride we feel about being members of the Arcadia community--and all of this in 1,853 minutes!

What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is the international day of charitable giving, which is celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving each year. Launched in 2012, in response to the the intense focus on consumerism immediately following the Thanksgiving holiday, Giving Tuesday was designed to intentionally shift the focus to the care and well-being of others through philanthropic support. This year, on Tuesday, Nov. 29, the Arcadia community will celebrate the international day of philanthropy in support of our University and students during UKnightedTuesday.

Why 1,853 Minutes?

Arcadia University was founded as Beaver Female Seminary in 1853. In honor of our history of distinction and nearly 170 years of excellence in higher education, we're extending the traditional 24-hour day of giving by six hours and 53 minutes for a total of 1,853 minutes.

How Can I Participate?

Anyone can participate in UKnightedTuesday. In fact, the more Arcadians who participate, the greater the impact we will make! To UKnight, make your gift on 9 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 29 through 3:53 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30. Alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the University can also volunteer to serve as a UKnightedTuesday Ambassador to help UKnight more and do more during this special campaign.

Why Should I Make a Gift?

On UKnightedTuesday, your gift makes an even greater difference. When each of us gives as generously as we can, together we charge towards another successful day of support for Arcadia and its students. Through targeted philanthropy and the power of collective giving, we'll demonstrate our shared commitment to and belief in the future of Arcadia University.

Your gift also supports the University's effort to garner attention from the institutional funder community. Often seen as a measure of alumni satisfaction, alumni giving helps foundations and corporations determine how their support can best be used to enrich and enhance universities where alumni signal a belief in the institution.

What Does My Gift Support?

Your gift on UKnightedTuesday demonstrates your pride and belief in the excellence of Arcadia University. Gifts can be designated tothe areas of the University that mean the most to you and will hve the greatest impact on our students, including The Fund for Arcadia, Athletics, Theater, Student Success, and The Center for Antiracist Scholarship, Advocacy, and Action.
